- Round Robin with 4 pools of 5 teams.
- Pool A will play against Pool D. Pool C will play against Pool B.
- Best 8 overall records will make the playoffs.
- Tie-breakers based on Record, Head-to-head record(if applicable), then Last Stone Draw (LSD) Totals (best 9 of 10).
- This event will adhere to the World Curling Federation (WCF) rulebook. All equipment must comply with WCF regulations and be approved for use in official competition.
- The Last Stone Draw will begin 10 minutes prior to the scheduled game time if the ice is ready.
- If tied after 8 ends, a full extra end is played toward the glass.
No tiebreaker games will be played. All ties will be resolved through the tie-breaking procedures outlined below.
Last Stone Draw (LSD)
Purpose
The Last Stone Draw (LSD) determines:
- First-end advantage for all games
- Ranking and seeding for playoff qualification and tie-breaking
Pre-Game LSD Procedure
- The first team listed will use RED rocks. Red Rocks will be considered first practice and will throw the clockwise rotation towards the glass.
- Teams alternate throws, with each player throwing 2 practice stones (1 away from the glass and 1 towards the glass for each player).
- After the practice stones, both players will throw 1 draw to the button towards the glass, which will be measured to determine the team with the lowest combined total. The team with the lowest total chooses rock placement in the 1st end.
Measurement Details
- Stones measured to the nearest ¼ inch.
- A stone covering the pin scores 0 inches.
- A stone missing the rings scores 84 inches (6 feet + 1 foot).
Tied LSD Totals (Pre-Game)
If totals are tied, each team throws one additional draw (without brushing) until the tie is broken.
Tie-Breaking System
Teams are ranked using their best 9 of 10 LSD results from round robin play. These results are also used for seeding and breaking ties.
Tie-Breaking Order
- Head-to-head record: Only applied if the tied teams played each other during cross-pool games.
Example: If Team X and Team Y are tied and played each other, the winner of that game ranks higher.
- If tied teams did not play each other, LSD Totals determine the tie-break.
- If still tied, compare sequentially:
- Best 8 of 10 totals
- Best 7 of 10 totals
- All 10 totals
Playoffs
Playoff Schedule (All games Sunday)
- Quarterfinals – 8:30 AM
- Semifinals – 12:00 PM
- Finals – 3:30 PM
Qualification & Seeding
- 8 teams qualify for playoffs: Best 8 Teams Overall based on win-loss record.
- Head-to-head results only apply if tied teams played each other during cross-pool games; otherwise LSD totals are used.
- Once the 8 teams are determined, they will be seeded using win-loss record & LSD totals.
Stone Placement Advantage
In all playoff games, the higher-ranked team chooses the stone handle color and placement in the first end.
Playoff Practice Option
In playoffs, teams may choose to throw 2 extra practice throws in place of the LSD procedure.
