Event Format
- The first team listed will use RED rocks. Red Rocks will be considered first practice and will throw the clockwise rotation towards the glass.
- Round Robin with 4 pools of 5 teams.
- Each team will play 4 interpool games and 1 ranked crossover game.
- Top 2 records from each pool will make the playoffs.
- Teams will be reseeded for playoffs based on win-loss record followed by LSD totals.
- Head-to-head results will determine ties within pool standings when applicable.
- Playoff seeding tie-breakers based on Record, then Last Stone Draw (LSD) totals.
- This event will adhere to the World Curling Federation (WCF) rulebook. All equipment must comply with WCF regulations and be approved for use in official competition.
- The Last Stone Draw will begin 10 minutes prior to the scheduled game time if the ice is ready.
- If tied after 8 ends, a full extra end is played toward the glass.
- No tiebreaker games will be played. All ties will be resolved through the tie-breaking procedures outlined below.
Last Stone Draw (LSD)
Purpose
- First-end advantage for all games
- Ranking and seeding for playoff qualification and potential tie-breaking
Pre-Game LSD Procedure
- The first team listed will use RED rocks and throw clockwise rotation toward the glass.
- Teams alternate practice stones (2 per player: 1 away, 1 toward the glass).
- Each player then throws 1 draw to the button toward the glass.
- The combined distance determines the team with the lowest LSD total.
- The team with the lowest total chooses rock placement in the 1st end.
Measurement Details
- Measured to the nearest ¼ inch.
- A stone covering the pin scores 0 inches.
- A stone missing the rings scores 84 inches (6 feet + 1 foot).
Tied LSD Totals (Pre-Game)
If totals are tied after both LSD draws have been thrown, flip a coin.
Tie-Breaking System
- Teams are ranked using their best 9 of 10 LSD results from round robin play.
- Head-to-head results only apply when tied teams have played each other.
- If tied teams did not play each other, LSD totals determine the tie-break.
- If still tied, compare sequentially:
- Best 8 of 10 totals
- Best 7 of 10 totals
- All 10 totals
